Last week we presented our One Month Study: The Impact of the New Hybrid News Feed, where we analyzed how Facebook’s new Hybrid news feed was affecting Page Admins. This week, we put together an infographic to illustrate some of the changes being experienced.
To recap, we found that the average effect on the Pages was a decrease in Impressions but an increase in Comments & Likes. However, when we began to analyze the data even further we found that the data was skewed positively towards large Facebook Pages.
We found that larger Pages were experiencing benefits in Engagement, while in some cases smaller Pages experienced a decrease! To see all of the original details go to the blog post: 1 Month Study: Impact of New Hybrid News Feed

Your findings confirm my experience. I do not have a large fan page…just 360 fans….and that effect on my page was noticeable in the beginning….and even more so now. As the sole administrator of the page I occasionally need to be away or choose to be away from updating my page status, such as in a recent move to a different state. My numbers fall off substantially when I’m away. It does seem to help to post more frequently. The gurus suggest twice a day….but I’ve found that as many as 6 post from early morning to late night help my numbers and fan engagement.
Thanks for your insights.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Our EdgeRank Checker Pro will analyze what your optimal post frequency is to help drive engagement.
Really interesting! Less impressions with MORE likes and MORE comments??? It seems like Facebook is getting this exactly right – in terms of improving the user experience.
