A lot has changed on Facebook since we’ve launched EdgeRank Checker. Facebook has combined the Top News and Most Recent news feeds into a single hybrid news feed, Timelines have been introduced for Personal Users, Insights received an overhaul, OpenGraph along with Spotify integrations were announced, and much more. During these changes, we’ve closely monitored EdgeRank Scores and how they’ve been impacted by these changes.
After careful consideration and monitoring, we’ve unveiled a modified EdgeRank Score Breakdown. We opted to change our scaling system, as opposed to modifying our existing algorithm in an effort to maintain consistent Scores for all of our users.
New Breakdown:
- 0 – 10 is below average
- 11 – 20 is average
- 21 – 30 is above average
- 31+ is excellent
We apologize for the inconvenience, however we believe it’s imperative that our users understand where they stand in relation to their peers. With the new changes, scores tended to be slightly higher, therefore slightly shifting our scale upwards.
Thank you for your understanding, and if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask.

It’s interesting to see how flexible you guys are about consistently changing things like this scaling system. Congratulations!
Is there a new scale now? The Edgerank that we are are seeing is much larger than these numbers, so I’m thinking all the FB changes in the past 6 months are impacting the score scale. Thanks in advance for your response!
What kind of average scores are you seeing?
I don’t know about Mindy’s but we’re seeing high 40s to 50s on a page with 350+ fans. Just started using Edgerank Checker so I don’t have historical data to reference.
Our weekly scores have dropped from the 40s and 30s down to the teens following Facebook’s major shift in September. Are these new scores truly average, or does the scale need to be adjusted?
We’ll take a look, perhaps the scale does need to be adjusted. Although that wouldn’t change the fact that your EdgeRank Scores have decreased, only that the “average Page” would be different.
Right, we know our scores have decreased and we’re constantly strategizing on how to improve them. Mostly, I’m wondering if Facebook’s major adjustment to the algorithm had the same effect on others’ scores, too.
We should do an update on that, thanks!
Thanks! Any chance you’ll get an RSS feed on this blog?
There is an RSS feed, http://edgerankchecker.com/blog/rss
Our Edgerank was really high in January but over the last few months seems to have gone to 0. Our average is still above average, why will it have dropped so much though?
Do you have a Pro account? If not, you’ll need to do a “Manual Refresh” at the bottom of the Page Overview.
Am getting a score of 176…which is way more than 31..is it fine or am i doing great with my page?
You’re doing great! I’m guessing you don’t have many fans, however. How many fans do you have?
